DSI SUPPLY CHAIN DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
$4,000 DSI Supply Chain Development Award presented to Jo-Ann Tremblay from Pourshins
(FAIRFAX, VA – November 6th, 2008) -- In September of 2008 at the IFSA (International Flight Association) Annual Conference in Orlando, Fl, Michael R. Aevermann of DSI (Distribution & Services, Inc.) presented Jo-Ann Tremblay the first-annual 2008 DSI Supply Chain Development Award which is meant to identify a person displaying strong leadership potential in the onboard logistics industry. Tremblay stood out over the many who applied, and she received a $4000 scholarship grant to further her career in the airline supply-chain management. DSI believes Tremblay is an up-and-coming leader in the fast growing onboard service industry displaying traits such as vision, agility, focus, fortitude, and determination. With DSI’s support, Tremblay plans on furthering an education in airline supply-chain management attending Columbia’s Emerging Leader Development Program.
For Michael R. Aevermann and DSI, launching the DSI Supply Chain Development Award with the support of the International Flight Services Foundation, was an opportunity to give back to an industry that has played a large role in DSI’s success as being a company dedicated to offering superior food supply chain services within the onboard industry. “The IFSA Foundation is honored to have been selected by Distribution & Service Inc. (DSI) to administrate this generous donation committed to furthering the education and professional development of an industry recipient in the field of distribution, supply chain management and logistics. While Spirit was looking to diversify their onboard menu, DSI has been able to provide them with a broader selection of products, better costs as well as improved management of their seasonal volumes. Today, in 2008, with more than 20 years of relationships, ventures and successes, it’s “pay-it-forward” time for Michael R. Aevermann and DSI; time to contribute back to a community they like and owe so much.
Through the DSI Supply Chain Development Award, DSI is happy to distinguish a new leader in supply chain, revealing vision, agility, focus, fortitude and determination, and help the recipient seize future opportunities in the 2008 fast moving onboard service industry. The DSI Supply Chain Development Award is launched with the support of the International Flight Services Association Foundation. It provides the opportunity for an individual involved in onboard food supply chain to further their education. The amount of the award is $4,000USD, which includes tuition, living expenses, books and associated costs.
Candidates for the DSI Supply Chain Development Award must complete an application which is available via the IFSA web site at www.ifsanet.com by August 30th, 2008. The recipient of the Award will be notified early September 2008 and will be invited to attend the IFSA Annual Conference September 13-16, 2008 in Orlando, Florida.

APRIL 8, 2008 DSI ON TRACKS!
Signature of a 3 years central distribution contract between Amtrak and DSI, a Fairfax, Virginia Company.
FAIRFAX, VA – April 9th, 2008 -- DSI and Amtrak are pleased to announce they have come to a common agreement on a 3 year distribution contract for Amtrak’s onboard hospitality. Starting April 1st, 2008, DSI was selected to act as the distributor for all of Amtrak’s frozen food.
